In La Belle Dame, Holly builds a connection between nature and the women of the novel, both of which are used to soothe the emotional extremes of male characters. Flowers are historically coded as feminine for their silent beauty, but some flowers, like the Amaryllis depicted, are toxic. Red with rage, this piece reminds us that, like nature, women too have their own power that is distinct from the emotions projected onto them by men. 

Our Hahnemühle Pearl Giclee paper has a smooth orange peel texture and resin coating which creates a fibrous feel and satin-like finish. Prints are shipped flat in a protective parchment sleeve in between two sheets of stiff cardboard to keep prints flat in transit.
