Inspired by Alice’s transformative encounter with the Unicorn in Through the Looking-Glass, a monochromatic scene conveys Alice nearly swallowed by lush red fabric. Despite her initial overwhelm, the Unicorn bridges her acceptance of her situation with a single statement: “Talk, child.” The saturated red signifies an acceptance of her situation and a willingness to move through the intense emotions accompanying her adventures. While Alice is enveloped in fabric, as if sitting in a fortune teller’s tent, she is not entirely covered which suggests her agency even amidst the chaos. Despite feeling vulnerable, Alice faces her emotions with tenderness and care.
